ESWEEK Ph.D. Forum

Submit to the ESWEEK Ph.D. Forum

The ESWEEK Ph.D. Forum provides an opportunity for Ph.D. students to present their dissertation research to the international embedded systems community. The forum brings together students, faculty, researchers, and industry professionals to discuss emerging ideas, receive feedback, and explore future research and career opportunities.

The forum is designed for students working in areas related to embedded systems, cyber-physical systems, electronic design automation, real-time systems, hardware/software co-design, edge and intelligent computing, Internet of Things, autonomous systems, and related topics.

Objectives

The Ph.D. Forum aims to:

  • Showcase high-quality dissertation research in progress.
  • Provide Ph.D. students with constructive feedback from experts in academia and industry.
  • Encourage interaction between students and the broader ESWEEK community.
  • Support networking, mentoring, and career development.
  • Connect students with potential collaborators, employers, and research groups.

Who Should Participate

The forum is intended for Ph.D. students who are in their last year of their PhD and are doing research related to embedded and cyber-physical systems.  PhD Forum is also open to students who finished their PhD journey after August 2025.

Format

Selected students will present their research through a poster session and/or short presentation, depending on the final ESWEEK program structure. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss their work with conference attendees, receive expert feedback, and engage with representatives from academia and industry.

Topics of Interest

Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Embedded systems design and optimization
  • Cyber-physical systems
  • Real-time and safety-critical systems
  • Hardware/software co-design
  • System-level design methodologies
  • Edge, mobile, and IoT computing
  • Machine learning for embedded and resource-constrained systems
  • Autonomous and intelligent systems
  • Low-power and energy-efficient computing
  • Security, privacy, and reliability in embedded systems
  • Formal methods, verification, and testing
  • Applications in automotive, healthcare, robotics, smart cities, and industrial systems

Benefits for Students

Participating in the ESWEEK Ph.D. Forum allows students to:

  • Present their research to a highly relevant technical audience.
  • Receive feedback from senior researchers and practitioners.
  • Increase the visibility of their dissertation work.
  • Build professional connections within the ESWEEK community.
  • Explore internship, postdoctoral, faculty, and industry career opportunities.
