Call for Industry Papers and Challenge Pitches

Industry Papers

ESWEEK 2022 will host an Industry Track specifically targeted at fostering the interaction of industrial researchers and practitioners with academics. Core of the ESWEEK Industry Track are the peer-reviewed industry papers. Accepted industry papers will get a presentation slot as well as a poster presentation. In addition, they will be published in the ESWEEK proceedings and will be listed as regular publications within the ACM and/or IEEE digital libraries.
We welcome industry-relevant unpublished work, including existing research ideas applied to practical applications, implementation results, outcomes of development projects, case studies, challenges, failure reports or position papers. There must be at least one author with an industry affiliation who is expected to participate at the event.
Industry papers must be in PDF format and can be between 2 and 4 pages (incl. references) in the ACM two-column format (9pt on 8.5″x11″ letter size paper). Please make sure that the paper title starts with the “Industry Paper:” prefix. For formatting instructions and templates, please use the primary article template with the ‘sigconf’ option available from the ACM web site. A double-blind review process will be enforced. Authors must not reveal their identity directly or indirectly but may refer to a more comprehensive technical report anonymously posted online if needed. Confidentiality of sensitive information is understood.

Industry Challenge Pitches

If you are eager to share and discuss your current challenges or positions on future trends, ESWEEK invites you to participate in  the Industry Challenge Pitch Session. In the Industry Challenge Pitch Session, industry speakers will outline their challenge and its engineering context in a short pitch. Following the pitches, there will be opportunity for in-depth discussion and matchmaking with academic experts.

We invite industrial researchers and practitioners to submit pitch proposals as a PDF file, including the title of the pitch, a short abstract describing the challenge and its engineering context (max 200 words) and a short bio and affiliation of the presenter. Abstracts of accepted pitch proposals will be published in the ESWEEK online program.

Industry papers and pitches should be submitted before the deadline of July 1, 2022 at the ESWEEK submission page If you have any questions about the submission of the ESWEEK 2022 Industry Papers or Challenge Pitches, please contact Reiley ( or Dirk (
